Debugging is at least twice as hard as writing the program in the first
place.
So if your code is as clever as you can possibly make it, then by definition
you’re not smart enough to debug it.

Yeah, but what is that nonsense about real time operating systems being
unsuitable for desktop usage ? Vaguely reminiscent of the “horseless
carriage is unsuitable for personal transportation” argument that was in
vogue in at the beginning of last century

Well, it is a bit of a strange review - the criteria she applies are not
what I would use but, like they say in marketing, any press is good press.
If QNX gets lots of press then we’ll get lots of sales and then Bill, RK and
Mario can get back to work. Either way, I especially enjoyed all the
reminiscing in the slashdot comments about the old ICON computers that I
used back in high school.

cheers,

Kris

RK wakes up huh? Oh yeah – work… Still working on the videos.
Now I’m working on migrating to QNX 6 for my main servers; just bought
some fancy new 120GB disks that I’m busy filling up…

Alas, no – it only has 32k of memory  But I did get a PDP-12
Check out the pictures at:

http://www.cca.org/tech/rcs/pdp12.html

Two cabinets; one has the processor, the second has the “additional” 24k
of core and a 24-bit “floating point processor”

Gee, I wonder if I can find my roll of DECtape? I did have one. I doubt that I ever
kept a LINKtape!
As I recall, the PDP-12 could read and write both.
I still remember that weird green colour. Wait’ll you try switching modes on the fly!

Cool. I used to work on PDP-8s and PDP-11s. I didn’t know there was a
PDP-12.

Aww, c’mon Mario, it’s already running at 0.1 MIPS! What more do you want?
