Number9 video card problem...

I have an IBM PIII 600, w/AGP and a Number9 video card that is supposed to
use S3 Savage4 chips.
I’m running QNX 425d & Photon 1.14.

Although there are some Number9 drivers in /qnx4/graphics/drivers, ctrtrap
doesn’t seem to select them. If I use crttrap to autodetect, my screen gets
all black and the machine seems to hang when I start photon.

If I start Photon in safe mode and select an SVGA display mode, I works but
without hardware acceleration, the display is waaaayyyyy slow, especially
when scrolling is involved.

1…Anyone know why the Number9 drivers aren’t detected ?

2…Is there a way to force using the Number9 drivers in order to see if they
work ?

3…If these cards are not supported, what model would you suggest we change
to ?

TIA.

The Number9 drivers under Photon1.14 are for cards with the Imagination 128 series
chipsets, not S3 Savage4.

Yes - crttrap -F Number9 trap - but the drivers will not work.

The S3 Savage4 chipset is only supported under RTP. For QNX4, I would recommend
a 3dfx Voodoo 3 , Voodoo Banshee, or ATI Rage Pro.(but there are many others -
check out - http://qdn.qnx.com/support/hardware/qnx4/video.html for a general list
of supported hardware.

TIA.
