photon won't start if keyboard is unplugged

I have photon automatically started, but it hangs every time on startup if
the keyboard is unplugged. I just recently upgraded to 1.14 from 1.12, and
QNX 4.24->4.25… I used to be able to do this, and now I have to have a
keyboard plugged in on boot. I can subsequently unplug it, and everything’s
OK.
Any Ideas?

This is just a wild guess. I’ve noticed that there is an
incestous relationship between the keyboard and PS/2 mouse
ports. If you are using a PS/2 mouse, you might just for
curiousity boot with neither connected. Of course even
if the keyboard now works, you will be without a mouse.

If on the other hand you are using a COM port serial mouse,
you might want to disable any startup autodetection. My
suspicion is that without the keyboard plugged in, the
autodetect for the PS/2 might leave the keyboard hardware
in a SNAFU.
