QNX 4 graphics support for the National Semiconductor CX5530

Hi,

Does anyone know what kind of graphics support is available for the National
Semiconductor CX5530A (Geode) graphics chip under QNX 4.25?
I know there is no specific driver listed on the QSSL web site but maybe
someone has got it working with a Pg.flat driver or something like that.
I need 800x600x16 bit colour.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated!! :sunglasses:

Hi Liam,

The Pg.Cyrix and Pg.Cyrixdc MAY work with the Geode - to trap
this driver you can try:

crttrap -FCyrix trap

Then you should edit your trap file (/etc/config/trap/crt.NODE) and
copy the desired mode to the top of the trapfile.

Regards,

Joe

HI,

Thanks for that.
I’ve received the board and the cyrix drivers appear to work in general.
There is a problem when switching from photon back to text mode (the lower
part of the display becomes garbled) but this is not a feature we require
for our product so it looks like we’re sorted.
I’ve posted this in case the inf.o is of any benefit to any other potential
users.

The board we’re using is an Advantech PC/104 PCM-3350 NS Geode based
embedded PC.

Thanks again,

Liam Power.

We are using QNX4.25 with an Advantech ETX module (SOM-4450) that is Geode
based. We are also experiencing this same problem when switching back to
text from photon, but in our case it does matter. Are there any workarounds
or fixes to this problem?

thanks,

Andrew McCartney
