Photon 1.14A Update disaster

I just downloaded and installed the Photon 1.14A update.
After rebooting, my system is now in a shambles. Here is
a brief list.

  1. Desktop Manager does not display its strip properly. At
first it was completely blank. Now it is partially visible
    but corrupt.

  2. Starting vmail (to write this) from a shell I see the error
    message:

PtConnectorCreate : Function not implemented

  1. Running voyager from a shell, nothing happens. No prompt is
    returned until I do a CTRL-Break.

  2. Starting voyager from the desktop manager, nothing appears,
but a “sin” shows voyager is in READY.

    Arrrg!

More information.

When I start “vmail” a small dialog comes up that says:

Can’t connect to ‘voyager.server’
No child process
OK?

I re-installed 1.14 and the problem does NOT go away.

I’ve was able to resolve the problem only by erasing
both my /qnx4/photon and /qnx4/voyager directories
and then reinstalling. I suspect something left
over from a previous install.
