Weired problems with ATI PCI Mach64

Hi all,

since I have changed the motherboards of two QNX4 systems, both equipped
with ATI PCI Mach64 graphics cards, weired problems in conjunction with
Photon show up:

  • the first box has a DFI motherboard with a Pentium III 550; everything
is working fine in textmode, but when Photon is started, network access
over a Net.tulip PCI card is no longer possible (system hangs when try-
    ing; ISA Net.ether1000 works well)!

  • the second box is equipped with an Asus motherboard and a Pentium III
750; after starting Photon, the floppy drive is no longer accessible
    (system hangs when trying)!

Both systems do not show any problems running QNX4 with XFree86, Linux or
WindowsNT. Did anyone see similar behavior with ATI PCI Mach64 cards and
Photon? Any ideas?

Best regards
Jochen

Hi,

Do you have access to any other video cards to try in
the system. If not try switching to the flat driver
to see if this makes any difference on the systems.

Regards,

Joe

thanks for your reply. I only have access to one of the two systems
right now. Switching to the flat driver does not work. The screen is
changing to text mode, keyboard is locked, and nothing else happens.
Over the network from another node I can see that the flat driver is
running. Some time later crttrap and the m64 driver are started, but
there is no switch back to graphics mode. I’ll try an AGP graphics
card next week.
