Dual Monitors in Photon

Hi,
I have a dilema that I thought someone here might be able to help me
with. We are using Photon in our machines with two monitors. For a while
we have been using Voodoo2 and Voodoo3 cards because they work so well
in Photon and they are easy to configure together in in Photon.
However, as I’m sure many people know, we can’t buy Voodoo cards
anymore, especially not PCI ones, which we need at least one of in each
machine.
So my question is this, does anyone else have any suggestions for dual
monitors in Photon? Any video cards someone would suggest? Dual cards,
or cards that work well together in Photon, and that we can get PCI
version of?
Thanks in advance,

Chris Nasr

Hi Chris,

We are currently working on dual-monitor solution that will involve
ATI chipsets.

Joe

That’s great, any idea when this will be available?

Have you guys looked at Colorgraphics? They have single PCI slot multiple
video output boards. This would allow for more than to monitor connected
without taking out all the PCI slots which is a problem for industrial
applications.

I have found them to be most helpful in the past.

You may already support their graphics chip set. All you have to do is
setup the display/screen the output is active to.

Augie,
excuse my ignorance please. Colorgraphics, I assume is a company, could you
possibly give me the name of the card you speak of? Are there many kinds?

Here is a link for their web site http://www.colorgfx.com/.

It’s been a while since I checked their products, but they had PCI/AGP cards
(Evolution and Predator) two/four port.

If QSSL had support for these cards, it would be super!

They have a very good product and they are always very helpful. We have
never had any problems with their products.

Hi Chris,

There is an experimental driver for ATI Rage 128 chipsets
(Pg.rage128) available at http://developers.qnx.com under Fixes,
that should support dual-monitors.

Joe

Joe,
thanks for the info I will get some of those cards and try it out.
