i have been experiencing this problem for a while now, while i am editing
text files in vedit it unexpectedly and unexplicably crashes causing a loss
of all work done since the last save. i have had this happen numerous times
and on multiple machines, an hp with a 533mhz celeron and a compaq 266mhz
p2.
i am running qnx 4.25, photon 1.14 and vedit 5.05 in 32 bit color at
1024x768 on both machines. if you have any suggestions on what is causing
this it would save me a ton of time and would be greatly appreciated.

If I run vedit from appbuilder (PhAB), it will crash “unexpectedly and
unexplicably”.
Thus I run it in a pterm.

what do you mean by run it in a pterm? doesn’t vedit always have to run
from a pterm? are you saying that you run it in a pterm not spawned by
selecting edit from within phab? good to hear somebody else has experienced
this though.

That situation happened to me when I launched vedit by clicking “Edit” button
(Build+Run) in PhAB.
You posted your problem here. Thus I thought that you spawned “vedit” from PhAB.

I used to have problems using vedit plus. After I got version 5.16.3 the
problems stopped.
You guys may want to get the latest vedit plus from Ted at Greenview Data
Inc, or at least let him know about the problem.
I can run vedit from any pterm or “from Phab” with no problems.
