Photon 1.13 locking up

From the QNX Knowledge Base I found a topic which said if the computer locks
up while exiting Photon, the reset button has to be used. What I am
wondering is if Photon is locking up do we know if the Filesystem has been
closed properly. The Reference No.: QNX.000009605 Category(ies): Character
I/O, Input Devices, Utilities from the Knowledge base is where I got that.

Hello Paulo

That article was for QNX 6 and Photon 2 and not for Photon 1.13. Basically what that
article means is that if the CTRL-ALT-SHIFT-BACKSPACE keys do not work ( they do not
exit Photon ), then it means that Photon has locked up. It should really explain a
little more and say that this is not a normal occurence for Photon to lock up in this
manner. If you are really worried about the filesystem and Photon locking up, you can
run “inetd” and telnet in to the box and slay off the processes that Photon uses if it
stops responding. Then you should be able to run the normal shutdown procedure which
will shutdown the filesystem properly.

Thanks
Rodney
