as time goes by: phindows

Hi,

every year or so, we again would like to use phindows with qnx 4.2x / photon
1.1x.
But then we remember the font problem.

So here are my questions:
What’s new about that issue?
What’s about that ‘ghost’ phindows 2.0 version?
Should we burry our hopes on an usable phindows?

TIA

What font problem?
Not all fonts used in photon are displayed from phindows.

That’s because of legal stuff, preventing the photon - phindows connection
to transport the used fonts to the windows machine.
The lookalike fonts installed on the windows machine are not used by
phindows.

So here are my questions:
What’s new about that issue?

Hey Friedhelm

Yes it does. I’m sorry, I meant to post to the entire newsgroup. My
suggestion to Friedhelm was that Phindows 2.0 now allowed you to set a
font mapping in the Phindows.ini file. The way that you would go about
this is:

[FontMapping]
dutchs=Times New Roman

If you wish to inquire about Phindows 2.0 please consult your sales rep.

Thanks,
Rodney

P.S. Freidhelm, did the email bounce back, or is it something with your
netwrok that doesn’t allow you to email that box?

take this way.

To make sure to be at the right way, one additional question:
Does Phindows 2.0 work with photon 1.14?

TIA
