qnx 6.2 + XFree86 4.2.0 + fvwm-2.4.6

help.

I’ve downloaded XFree86 and it runs

I believe the next thing to do is to get fvwm to run along with XFree86.
But can’t find any kind of README file or instructions on how to do it.

Can anybody provide some advice?

Thanks!

sorry about sending a blank message. hit send too soon
anyway, to answer your question, the document you need can be
found http://www.fvwm.org/
in short, you can modify your $HOME/.xinitrc to start your own
window manager.

do you already have XFree86 configured and running under its
default window manager?
if not, read this mailing list archive on how to do it:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/forum.php?forum_id=99
if yes, then do the following to switch from twm to fvwm:
vi $HOME/.xinitrc
and put
fvwm
in it.
read FAQ on www.fvwm.org for more information.

Frank,

Thanks for the reply.

But, please give me a hint as to what to start
reading first at > http://www.fvwm.org/> ?

I downloaded fvwm-2.4.6, X Window Managers for
QNX6, from > http://sourceforge.net/projects/openqnx
and hoped to find a README file of some kind -
nothing…

I guess I’m a “newbie” at this stuff. I’ve been
working in the Tru64 UNIX world for so long that
I’ve gotten used to pre-packaged, double-click-and-go
applications.

Thanks for your help and patience!
