Hey, anyone from Czech Republic here ?

I wanna meet some of the QNX guys (or ladies, especialy young and pretty
)))) too.
It’s too far away for me to travel to Canada (unless I decide to work for
QNX , so i’d like to organize some central-european meeting.

Anyone interested ?

(Don’t know how good the pizza is, but I can swear we have a lot better beer

I was born in “Ostrov nad Ohri, okres Karlovy Vary” which is about 100km from Prague…
I visit Prague somewhat regularly (once every few years) and I might be going this year.

Well, I’m missing enough spare time (especially now, might be better next

(one little joke will hopefully insult no-one
Why your Sysadmin is Santa Claus

It’s very interesting that Sysadmins and Santa Claus seem to have a lot of
common ground. Of course, you shouldn’t mention this to either of them as
they tend to think they’re unique (another common feature!). Consider the
following facts (more could be made up, if some come to your mind, mail them
to me):

  1. Santa is bearded, corpulent, and dresses funny.
  2. When you ask Santa for something, the odds of receiving what you wanted
    are infinitesimal.
  3. Santa seldom answers your mail.
  4. When you ask Santa where he gets all the stuff he’s got, he says, “Elves
    make it for me.”
  5. Santa doesn’t care about your deadlines.
  6. Your parents ascribed supernatural powers to Santa, but did all the work
    themselves.
  7. Nobody knows who Santa has to answer to for his actions.
  8. Santa laughs entirely too much.
  9. Santa thinks nothing of breaking into your $HOME.
  10. Only a lunatic says bad things about Santa in his presence.

But if you’re not that far from Prague maybe we should have a QNX meeting
there. I’ve heard about some very interesting lifestyle customs in
Prague.
Is it true?

This depends a lot on what you do call interesting, but yeah, I really do
love to live here
But what really sucks is a lots of real stupid foreigner tourists (Well,
this doesn’t mean that Czechs can’t (and don’t) act like total assholes

In either case, gather up a gaggle of pretty young ladies and I’m there!

Lot of pretty ladies around here, but only a few of them really knows what
is PC ( far beyond there limits lies knowledge of what an OS is, not
speaking about RTOS ))))
(Yeah, they still know a lot of other interesting “stuff”, I can swear

Btw, do you know why there are so little of women that likes QNX ? Maybe
'cos women are not predictable

nicer. Remeber - it is the commerical American beers that suck. ha!

Are you well ??? Do you know where the word “pilsner” comes from? The small
town of “Plzen” in the Czech Republic. Do you know where the word “Budweiser”
comes from? The small town of “Ceske Budejovice” aka “Czech Budweis”.

When I was in the Czech republic, I drank a beer from a brewery that said
“since 1343” on it.

Which beer did you try? You’ve got to try “Kozel”, they have it at the LCBO
at Hazeldean Mall… There’s also “Radegast”, which suffers from not being
on tap, and “Pilsner Urquel” which is also good…

Geez

I had the Urquel - it was very good. But I worry that our Eurpean friends
like to group good Candian beer in with the REALLY bad American beer. Not
that there isn’t plenty of really nasty Canadian beer, but grouping Coors
Light and Keiths in the same category just isn’t fair.

Well, that remind me handful of englishmans, which ussualy drink this #$%^
which (as they say) is the only beer ) (well, half of them tastes like
water, the second one like lemon juice, the only one I’ve tested and it
reminded me beer was Guiness, but normally I won’t drik it anyway)

But anyway, let everyone drink what pleases him, so do I.

Cheers.

My wife, Mary, loves beer (both parents’ families owned breweries in the
past). When she went to buy some beer for a party, she asked what the most
popular brand was. She was horrified when the clerk said it was Labatt’s
Blue. The clerk went on to say that that didn’t mean it was the best beer.

Mary loves dark, thick, beer, so she thinks Blue (or worse, Blue Light) is
a form of punishment.

Unfortunately, there is only a small choice of Canadian beer even
though Washington (the state) is neighbor to British Columbia. So we
get Kokanee, Moosehead, Molson Ice, Labatt’s, etc. Well maybe not a
small choice but what are missing, eh?
