cq Unauthorized

When I try to compile with cq on QNX2 machine on a 2 nodes Arcnet network
I get

Node is Unauthorized

message.

I did use this machine, alone without Arcnet card and I am able to
compile with cq.

I tried to use cii_authorize with the info from /cii/nodes/c86.Serial but
got

Authorization failed, please try again

after I enter the Authorization code.

What is the Authorization code ? Is it the update code from c86.serial
file ?
Or is it a number on floppy disk ?
What is the label for the C Compiler ?

There is a file I need to transfer ?

Take note clrhouse and cii2adm are running on this node.

Thanks

Patrick

It has been far too long since I dealt with QNX2 – so wild guess
time.

I seem to remember that all our (QSSLs) licensing for QNX2 was done
in such that if you had n licenses, then nodes 1 to n could use that
item.

So, maybe, your machine (without the arcnet card) could compile, cause
at that point, it thinks its node 1, it has 1 license, so is ok.

After you put it on the network, it now has a node number, which is
more than 1 (node 2 maybe) and you only have 1 license, so you can’t compile.

But, I don’t know for sure with the CII stuff, since that was not just
a QNX product – it came from Computer Innovations.

And, unfortunately, I don’t know anything about cii_authorise, or
codes, or anything.

Check your node assignments. What are the node numbers of the two nodes
you are using and how many nodes does your compiler license cover. If you
have two nodes and your nodes are 2 and 6, then you can assign the two
licensed nodes to 2 and 6. In the file “3:/cii/nodes/c86.nodes” is a one
line list of nodes, space delimited. Make sure that your two nodes are
listed. If not, add the two nodes and remove any excess node numbers.
You may have to slay and restart cii2adm, or just reboot after you modify
this file.

The c86.serial file has a serial number and a password, but not the
authorization number. That number is on the paperwork you received when
it was purchased, and maybe on the floppies, but I’m not sure.

When you started cii2adm, it should report the nodes that are authorized.
If it didn’t report anything, then it’s probably the node file mentioned
above.

Thanks

Thanks, cq start to work after changing nodes number in the file
c86.nodes.

Patrick
