cfont on QNX 6

Does QNX 6 support utility same cfont in QNX 4.*

Nick.

with qnx6 we use photon for graphical text. my understanding is that a
lot of the text mode ‘vga-like’ capabilities of the graphics parts being
made now are being phased out due to cost.
blame the onslaught of Windows…

Does that include the ability, in text mode, to toggle between 25 & 50 line
mode?

BTW, whose/what cost? Hardware? I don’t think so. Software? Whimps!
Port it from QNX 4. ;~}

A lot of non-x86 hardware has never had the vga' capabilities that support text mode’.

OK. Got it.

So the issue is one driver process to work across CPU platforms.

Not neccessarily one driver process, but one code base at least.

Many of the non-x86 processor families do have ways to simulate' x86 I/O, so VGA stuff’ can be done on those platforms, but it
doesn’t `just work’.
