CVS and QNX4

Has anybody used CVS in QNX4? I know it is available for QTP. I \f you
have used it on QNX4…

  1. Are the client and server both QNX4 hosted?
  2. Does one end or other need to be on RTP?
  3. Any experience using it between QNX/RTP and Win clients?
  4. Where did you get it?

Thanks.

We’ve used the QNX4 client for years with no problems. We have never
used the server. There is no reason to think that it would not work.
We use ssh for the connection, not rsh, though rsh also works.

No. Our server runs on Linux.

We have used the Cygnus tools under Windows to run cvs to a
non-Windows server. That works fine.

We use the ‘stow’ package manager under QNX4. It requires stow and
perl. You can get stowable packages for stow, perl and cvs at
ftp://24.112.178.91/pub/qnx4/stowable
There is a README file with a (very) brief explanation of stow.
Details on stow are available at www.gnu.org.

You can also get cvs from QNX’s ftp site at ftp.qnx.com, though I
don’t know the full path off-hand.

Cheers,
Andrew
