Newer version of GNU make?

Greetings. Does anyone have any experience porting a newer version of
GNU make to QNX 4.25E? The installed version is 3.62, dating from 1991.
I downloaded the latest (3.79), but after spending an hour trying to
get it to compile I have nothing to show. Advice on doing this or a
pointer to a pre-built version would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have compiled and get run GNU make version 3.79-1, but had to do
some changes… May mail your the sources, if you need.
