Weird network issues

Hi there,

I am in the process of reviewing QNX, but am experiencing some network
problems.

First some background. I have four PC’s running from a gateway router:
Linux, FreeBSD, W2K and most recently QNX. I know my QNX connection works
because if I ping IP addreses, I get the sort of result I would expect.

The problem occurs when I attempt to do something DNSish. For example, if
instead of pinging an IP address, I ping a domain name, news.com, for
example, ping reports that it is trying to ping news.com.mydomain. The
“mydomain” part is what is specified in the QNX network configuration
section. I briefly had things working when I changed this to a nonsense
value, but it has stopped working again.

So, I guess my question is, why is QNX appending my domain name onto DNS
requests? Well, that question isn’t the important one, really. The important
one is how do I get QNX to stop appending my domain name?

Regards,

Fred

Yeah, however this is an install issue. This is a DDK group, for people
talking about the development/debugging of network drivers. Not setting
up a network at home. TRy posting to one of the other, non DDK, public
groups.
