How to retreive my deleted files. undel utility doesn't work

I deleted my project directory in QNX… Could any of you please tell me how
to retrieve my working directory.
I tried downloading undel.gz from /usr/free/qnx4/os/utils/disk/, but it
gives me
“Expected )”. I could not find a readme file with that.

Any help in this regard, will save from me from lot of re-doing tasks.

Thanks - Jalaja

You appear to be really lost as to QNX groups.

It might be still possible to retrieve the deleted files. The
first thing to remember is to not write to this disk until you
are done. Take a look at the tech notes on recovering data,
and also the /usr/include/sys/fsys.h file. The spatch command
can be very useful for this type of work.

This is QNX4 utility, won’t work with QNX RTOS v.6 :frowning:
There is no solution that I know of…

Please correct me if I’m wrong but, aren’t QNX4 and QNX6 file systems
compatible? If that is the case, then you can boot QNX4 (maybe with a
boot floppy) and then mount the QNX6 partition and then use the QNX4
undelete utilities to retrieve the deleted files. Is this possible?

Hey Chris

Since everyone gets bitten by this sooner or later
is QSSL working on an undelete that ‘executes’ under RTP?

Since the filesystem is the same as Qnx 4 it should be a very easy port.

Honestly? No clue. Sounds like something that would be handy though.
