nfm-bpf.so problem if more than 2 LAN boards

The following problems were detected only when more than 2 LAN boards are
installed

  • if qnet, tpcip and ppp are mounted, mounting of nfm-bpf.so results in
    io-net crash
  • if just tcpip is mounted, io-net survives mounting of nfm-bps.so,
sniffering and IP net is working but inetd must be restarted to work.
nfm-bpf.so mounting and umounting resuts in io-net crash.

Any medicine to these problems?

We have the similar problems when more than one interface is configured.

Please, can somebody from QSL comment this problem.
Is this matter of io-net or should we start to search the problem in
nfm-bpf.so ?

We just count on functionality of nfm-bpf.so in our project.
Please could Chris or Xiaodan comment this problem?

I guess you already aware nfm-bpf.so IS NOT a QSSL supported
product (Even though I am working in QSSL

There is bpf source code on the net. If your project is
so depend on bpf, you probably want to debug the source
to make sure no any suprise in it.

The only thing I can tell you is I did tried what you
described, but it didn’t happened (at least) on my machine.

Thanks for reply.

If more LAN ports in PC, is there a way to mount qnet and tcpip protocol to
a just specified LAN interface ( not to all together)?

I know, nfm-bpf.so and tcpdump are QNX unsuported.
There are clear results of our testing, maybe before we start diging some
opinion can outstand:

We tested PC configurations ( among others ):
MB Matsonic MS7127, Celeron 850MHz
MBFICAD11 Athlon1GHz
MB SOYO SY5EHM 300MHz
Tested LAN boards
4 pieces Ovislink LFE8139 100MBit
( devn-rtl.so )
4 pieces SVEC 0455 10MBit
devn-pcnet.so)
multiport LAN ( 4 ports ) D-LINK DFE 570TX 100MBit
devn-tulip.so )

On all combinations of PCs and LANs, the behavior is nearly the same.

  1. if 4 ( 3 is enough too ) LAN ports
    a) qnet, tcpip, pppmgr is mounted
  • second remounting of nfm-bpf.so crashes io-net
    b) no protokol library mounted
  • io-net survives cyclic mounting/umounting of nfm-bpf.so
  1. if 4 LAN ports
    a) qnet, tcpip, pppmgr is mounted, nfm-bpf.so is mounted and tcpdump
    is started
  • own trafic on qnet or tcpip crashes io-net
  • the slower the computer the quicker io-net crash
