Network card for QNX 4.23A

Hi

We have problems finding a network card that is working under QNX 4.23A with
the following specification.

  • PCI interface
  • Combo connection (Coax and TP)

We currently have had no luck in finding any card that is still in
production on qdn web site.

Does any one have any sugestion.
Upgrading QNX to 4.25 is not an option at this time.

You may do better to post this in the QNX4 newsgroup.

If you can find a card that claims to be “NE2000” compatible,
it may work. Until recently, we used a card from KTI which may
be still available. We are using 4.25, but I think the 4.23 driver
worked.

Another possibility is to check with Corman; they provide drivers
for their cards, although if your netinfo is not up-to-date, you
may have difficuties.

There are other cards that use a 214112 chip (10/100) that may
work with the Net.ether21x4x but most manufacturers don’t list
the chipset, so you would have to do a bit of hunting.

We do indeed sell a PCI Ethernet card with both coax and UTP interfaces (our
part number CT-E112). The card ships with a QNX 4 network driver. The
driver has not been tested under QNX 4.23 for some time, but I see no reason
it won’t work. Since the card is NE2000 compatible, you can always fall
back on using the Net.ether1000 driver if you do run into any difficulties.
