Opening a socket

Hi

I have written an app which attempts to open a socket and send data
I get the following when running

Could not resolve all symboles
unresolved symbol warnx
unresolved symbol err
unresolved symbol syslog
unresolved symbol warn
could not resolve symbols

Any ideas ?
Bob

Hi Bob,

Did you link against the socket library when you built it,
(-lsocket option to qcc)?

Regards,
Barry F.

Barry

I tried the compiler option but still have the same end result .
Is it looking for some DLLs or something that cause the unresolves - do I
have
to tell compiler/linker where these are ?

Hi Bob,

Do you have libsocket.so.2 on your target? The symbols that it’s complaining
about are in the libsocket.so.2 but are NOT in libsocket.so.1.

Hi

There are no errors when compiling and linking, the only errors I get are
when trying to
execute the program on the target which are stated below, which seem to be
some setup/configuration
problem when trying to run this application on the target.

What make file do you want me to post ? I have attached that which built
my

This was compiled and linked on a Windows 2000 platform .
I am using the “INSTRUMENTATION,None” option. This was built through

I tried the compiler option but still have the same end result .
Is it looking for some DLLs or something that cause the unresolves -
do
I
have
to tell compiler/linker where these are ?

Hi Bob,

Did you link against the socket library when you built it,
(-lsocket option to qcc)?

Hi

I have written an app which attempts to open a socket and send
data
I get the following when running

Could not resolve all symboles
unresolved symbol warnx
unresolved symbol err
unresolved symbol syslog
unresolved symbol warn
could not resolve symbols

Any ideas ?

Try running with DL_DEBUG=1(export).That should tell you which files is it
looking for
