Any tentative release date set yet?

Has any release date for the Audio DDK been set yet?

And has any mention yet been made of what it source
drivers will be included with it?

Yes… it says ASAP on this piece of paper I have here.

No… no mention has been made.

The normal answer…

Thanks Pete!

What we’re now doing with all our DDK’s is verifying that they operate
correctly with the QNX 6.00 release (a.k.a. Patch A), and that they are
capable of targeting non-x86 targets using QNX 6.00 as the host development
system.

In the case of Audio, there are some final i’s to dot and t’s to cross as
well.

No problem.

I fully understand how things go when trying to get “final” code out the
door.

We are mainly interested for the purpose of trying to get our hands
on a little beastie called “deva-supersouth” or to be able to do our
own AC97 based driver for a Via686A.

A true AC97 based driver for a Geode/MediaGX might be nice as well
while I’m wishing… (right now we’ve got some godawful code I wrote
that works “around” the deva-sb to hack on the AC97 mixer regs directly
to allow access to some of the mixers that deva-sb doesn’t recognize.
This is definitely not the right way to do things but it works for now.)

Ah well…

If there is no word on when the ddk will be released, is there a word
on whether or not it might be possible to sign up for a beta program???

My understanding is that there will be no need to sign up' for a beta program. If that changes, and some kind of sign up’ is required, I beleive
it will be open to anyone who asks.
