Drivers for Creative Audigy?

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone might know if there is a driver available for
the Creative Audigy soundcards? If not perhaps someone might make one,
perhaps even QNX?

These cards are very popular, and they sound pretty good. Much better
than the regular Soundblaster fare. Mandrake Linux has support for them,
and I’d imagine that other distros do as well. How hard would it be to
port the Linux drivers if none are available? I’m not a coder…btw.

regards,

Lee

Hi Lee,

We are looking into support for the Audigy, however at this time it
is currently not supported. However if you can get the docs, you can
use the Audio DDK and try giving it a shot yourself. The DDK include
all the info that you’d need to write a driver.

Porting drivers are somewhat difficult, since the API calls between
systems are different.

If this is something that you need badly, your sales rep would be able
to help you in getting support for this chipset added.

Best regards,

Erick

It is waste of the time, really sblive’s DAC/ADC and controller differs from
Audigy only by some features. But it is almost the same. It is really waste
of the time - to rewrote whole driver only for Audigy.

The same thing with the SiS onboard audio controller and Trident driver.
Almost the same drivers.
