PCMCIA network card for QNX6

Hello,

had anyone success with PCMCIA network cards and QNX6 ?
Can anyone recommend me an card with I can by at this time ?

I have found the follwing actually cards:

  • Netgear FA411
  • Netgear FA511
  • SMC EZ Card SMC8040TX2
  • Longshine LCS-8538TX
  • Longshine LCS-8538TXN
  • D-Link DE-660CT+

Alleged is the D-Link card NE2000 compatibe. I have tried the D-Link DFE-650 without success.

Thank you very much for your help !

there is a ‘supported hardware’ link at qnx.com/support/ listing …er… the supported hardware.
print it out and keep it handy as you browse your ebay offers.
you won’t find the stuff at the first visit, but there are chances (well, it took me two weeks approx.).
if you have a european surface mail adress, i might be able to get you a spare pcmcia card that works.

  • NON COMMERCIAL, for all those who are listening, just as a matter of help ! - costs around 30 $, that’s what i paid at ebay’s for it.

regards … helge

webmaster, give me a wink if you do not wish such kind of help. i do not intend to violate the rules, but i couldn’t find any restraining this.

Hello WhiteRabbits,

I have readed the supported hardware list …

Cards, which i found in the list:

  • D-Link DFE-530TX
  • SiS 900
  • SMC 1211, 9432

I don’t know, if they are all PCMCIA cards …

I search for an actually card, which I can by in a shop …

Whats you card ?

Best regards

Fiffi

it depends on the chipset, which appears in the left column of the ‘supported hardware’ list.
a good try is always to visit the manufacturer’s homepage or mail to them about the chipset.
some of them do answer. what a surprise !

mine is an OLICOM with a simple print of ‘ethernet pcmcia’ on it, and it works with devn-eepro.
10 mb only, but who cares. i might be able to get you one, but only if the mailing costs are reasonable.

don’t hack too much into that ne2000 business, the cards are practically sold out. when i started with qnx there were rumors that a (pawn) shop in paris still had two of them for sale, but i guess at this stage at solid-gold-prices already.
