GNAT Anyone

Hi all:

Has anyone ported GNAT to QNX6? If so could you provie the details.
If not - has anyone looked into it and therefore able to offer comments on
the ease or otherwise of porting.

I assume you’re speaking of the Ada package that is supported by Ada Core
at www.gnat.com? At the moment we do not have this available for QNX.
What it comes down to in most cases is developer resources vs. demand so,
until there is some customer demand for it, it would be unlikely that we
would port this. If enough people were interested we would possibly
consider supporting it. On the other hand, if enough people were interested,
I bet that Ada Core might consider porting it as well. After all, according
to their website, they support a large cross section of hosts and targets.

I spoke to some of our marketing/alliances people and it seems that there
is very little current demand for Ada in our target market so it would seem
unlikely that there will be anything from us in that direction any time soon.
Sorry. :frowning:

A while ago I looked at porting it. The problem was that the ADA compiler

is written in ADA  What this means the compiler must be cross compiled.
I beleive cross compiling for NTO is possible from Windows or Solaris. So
you would need a ADA compiler running on Windows or Solaris.
