Hi all,
I’m not able to have PCMCIA card working under QNX6, can someone help me
?
The cip (on the PCMCIA controller) is a cirrus logic PD6720 and the card
is a
Fujitsu 8MB Flash Card.
I do not have anything except the hardware (no books, no technical
papers etc etc…).
I mount the adapter on the board (an x86 ) through the PCI bus then I
insert the card onto the slot and I
have no way to see the card.
Attached is the result of some commands I’ve tryied. How can I check if
it is an hardware problem ?
Do I have to change somenthing in the bios configuration or am I missing
a basic configuration step ?
Triyng the card on Win98 box revealed it is not PNP but the card is seen
from the OS.
Any help would be high appreciated.
Thanks
Alberto

I’m guessing that controller isn’t support (all the tools seems to complain
the pccard driver isn’t running (devp-pccard).
Try to start devp-pccard manualy.
Hi Mario and thanks for helping me.
I’ve forgot to mention but I triyed to start manually
the devp-pccard before issuing the commands referred in my first post.
When I launch it, it does not complain about anything but then
I can’t find the correspondig process running (I suppose should be there at
least 1 process).
This is a bit confusing since I would expect that strating devp-pccard in my
case would at least
exit with an Error message.
I was thinking about interrupts conflicts or misconfiguration… Is it
resonable ? How can I check
that ?

I found the documentation of the pcmciatrap command and there the cirrus 67xx
chips are listed as
supported. Anyway this command is not available…
This is what I read on the chip:
Cirrus Logic
CL - PD6720-QC-B
73996-298CE
9648 U
TAIWAN-D
Thanks again

I beleive pcmciatrap was a QNX4 command not QNX6.
Try to start devp-pccard with the -v flag (verbose).
Then run pidin | grep devp-pccard to check if it’s still there.
This is what I read on the chip:
