QNX Boot time

Hi all,

I boot on a card flash and i’m looking about informations to boot faster.

Is it possible to reduce the time taken by QNX when “Boot partition 1 ? 1”
is displayed. In fact I will always boot on this partition, is it possible
to reduce or delete this message and the time it take before continue.

Same question when “Hit Esc for alternate boot …” is displayed. I never
want to use an alternate boot.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Have a look at http://qdn.qnx.com/support/bok/solution.qnx?9534
it works under RTPo, also.

Be very careful about not using esc for alt boot. One day you will screw up
a build or a sysinit command and you will have to install everything from
scratch or at a minimum connect a hard drive/new flash to fix it.

Assuming that you won’t have multiple paritions on your card flash of which
you’ll want to boot, you can remove the parition boot loader. Just use the
OS loader (secondary loader is what some call it). You can change this
loader (IPL) - you can purchase a BSP for the x86 to get examples/docs for
this.
