qnx on pc104

We’re going to run QNX on a PC104 system. We’re looking into CPU and
auxiliary boards by the following manufacturers:

  • Ampro
  • Diamond Systems
  • Octagon Systems
  • Real-Time Devices
  • VersaLogic
  • WinSystems

Do you have any good or bad experiences to share about these systems (or
others)? Thanks.

I’ve used PC104 products from a variety of vendors, including Diamond
Systems, Digital Logic, and WinSystems. All of their products are quite
nice. WinSystems puts together a very nice processor board in either 166 or
266 MHz. One thing to watch out for when you look for aux boards is the
overall height. Many of the companies don’t stick to the height limit on the
PC104 standard, so it’s difficult to stack the taller boards. Just about
everyone will sample you a board on a zero-cost PO, too.

Sincerely,
David Kuechenmeister

Hi Celia…

Diamond Systems have the Prometheus board with integrated A/D, D/A, DIO
circuitry. Very nice. Also, they have a driver for QNX that works very
well. They will come out with another board later in the year which
will double the IO space of the Prometheus.

Ampro boards are also very good with QNX drivers for them.

Regards…

Miguel.
