I am having trouble with the new ffs3 file systems.
Running a Hitachi bigsur/amanda, qnx 6.2.1 Patch B w/ supplemental
I have created an efs in which I was filtering with flashcmp -tucl When I
mount the efs I can see all of the files, but they are full of jiberish. I
noticed that in the new v3 of the devf-* the -c option (which dealt with
disabling compressed mountpoints is no longer available). I rebuilt the
file system without flashcmp and everything works fine (except it takes up
twice as much room ).
Does the v3 flash file system support compressed mount points?

You want to use inflator. It will do the on-the-fly decompression with
the new ffs.

Ok I tried using the inflator, and it works provided the files have been
deflated.
The inflator cannot decompress files that have been compressed with flashcmp
and flashcmp cannot work with files that have been deflated. The
compression is the same however the header and tail information is slightly
different. Having to use the deflate utility is fine in fact it makes more
sense and has added functionality (i.e skipping files that don’t compress
more than a certain amount).
I need a windows version of deflate so that I can continue to do image
builds with the window’s IDE. Is one available?

That is a very good question actually. I will see what I can find out.
