How can I format an existing partition as qnx4?

I just need to know a way to format an existing partition as qnx4 without starting over with creating the partitions. Is there a way to do that?

Thank you for your help, I’m very new to QNX, we’ve just gotten a few machines in that use it and we need to be able to back them up. This seemed like the best route. I checked it out with linux, it seems we can read them, but not actually format as qnx4.

maybe I do not understand your question completely, so I give you some in return :

  • do you already have a QNX4 partition ?
  • did you try to mount a filesystem on it ?
  • why do you wish to format it ? by formatting you might loose the files and their contents on it.
