Why I cann't save my modified files within IDE ??????????

I’ve installed QNX6.20 in my machine(P¢ó 850M CPU,256M memory),and I open
IDE via a non-root user to created a project successfully, but after I modify
the auto-generate program it cann’t save the source file.

I’ve also downloaded 2 patches and installed. In another way,I install QNX
at least 3 times at different machines, the problem still exist.

Any suggestion will be appreciate.

Add your hostname to the /etc/hosts file. This was a problem with Eclipse
but it has been fixed in
version 2.0.

Yeah the save modified file problem has solved, thanks you very much!

But now I met another problem after modified a file and build it,configure
some running parameters and choose the propriety menu, then occured a problem
“cann’t connect to target”(I run IDE under Neutrino). For more detail see the
attachment pictures,please.

I have install 2 patches(IDE Patch v6.2,and QNX Momentics Professional
Edition 6.2.0 patch A ),but the IDE version still is ‘Rv1.0’,how can I
update the IDE to v2.0 version??

For the first question, do you have qconn running on your system?

The upcoming release, QNX 6.2.1, contains Eclipse version 2.0.

Hi Barry,

I feel very puzzled about the Eclipse IDE,you know modify ‘hosts’ file and
run ‘qconn’ utility before run IDE,but why I cann’t read these prompts in
the ‘help document’??? Is this your company’s neglect???

Thank you Mr.Barry .

The modification of the hosts file is a work-around for a bug. It should
not be neccessary in the next version.

The running of qconn is definitely discussed in the training videos
on the documentation CD. Also, the chapter on Setting Up under the
IDE docs does mention that you must have the target agent, qconn,
running on your target. It would probably be clearer if there
were a self-hosted section there that said qconn needs to be
running in that environment as well.
