why?

Why do I have an /x86/opt/X11R6, a /opt/X11R6 and a /usr/X11R6
directory? Are they all the same? Which is the correct one? How can I
get x applications to work (eg emacs, xpdf etc).

I am not sure why you have a /usr/X11R6 unless you downloaded the openqnx
XFree86 packages and didn’t uninstall the ones from the QNX 3rd Party
repository. You will always have the /x86 version if you are using
packages so that you can reference things by CPU type (ie: /opt/X11R6 and
/x86/opt/X11R6 are the same thing on an x86 QNX machine).
