Has anyone had luck with the System Analysis portion of the IDE?
I want to use the instrumented kernel and the system analysis
perspective in the IDE to get a graphical representation of an
application’s execution.
Everythings works okay from the command line on using
tracelogger/traceprinter etc, but the Momentics IDE either natively on
x86 host or from a Win32 host to an x86 target using qconn, is terribly
slow and often crashes. It took 10 minutes to load and parse a 3 second
trace file, and each time I try to select a region and magnify, the gui
freezes for several seconds. I’m only trying to gather at most 10
seconds of info and my machines are 2Ghz Xeons with 1 gig of ram.
How well can I expect the System Analysis Perspective in the IDE to work?
I don’t care about controlling the event capturing in the IDE, but I
want to parse the events graphically, so is there a way to load a
command line generated trace log into the Eclipse GUI?
When I tried to load a tracebuffer file into the GUI, it said unknown
parse error.

What version of QNX do you have?
The parsing of this data is VERY CPU intensive. (Take a look
at the size of the log file generated for even a 3 second
capture.)
It has gotten a bit better with later releases, but still can
be slow.
Try a smaller/shorter file (say .5 seconds) first.
Also, what sort of CPU/machine are you running the IDE on?
