Berkely r commands

I recentrly upgraded a few computers on a LAN from 6.1 to 6.2.1. I cannot
rsh/rlogin/rcp from either the remaining 6.1’s or the new 6.2.1’s to either
of the 6.2.1’s, but I can (obviously) from the 6.2.1’s to the 6.1’s. As far
as I can tell nothing should have changed between those to versions, and I
set everything up exactly as the old systems.

By the way, I couldn’t think of a better group to put this on, but if there
is one, let me know.

Is inetd running?

Have you checked /etc/inetd.conf and /etc/services that they have all
of the necessary data?

Otherwise, can you ping to/from all of these systems?
