Graphics Cards

I am about to purchase a new PC, and would like to know which graphics card
to buy.
I intend to buy a leading edge system, so something like a GeForce 4, or ATI
Raedon, etc.
I intend to install QNX RTP, Linux, and would also like to be able to use
QNX 4.25.
Specifically, I am interested is supported resolutions in the neighbourhood
of 1280x1024 to 1600x1280.

Any suggestions?

Thanks
Ian.

Hi Ian,

ATI Radeon would be your best bet. We do not support the latest nVidia
cards due to the lack of documentation provided nVidia.

Regards,

Joe

I have just read another post from the qdn.public.qnx4.photon newsgroup…

Hi Stepan,

We do not have a driver for Radeon chipsets under Photon 1.14. It may
work with one of the generic unaccelerated drivers, but we have not had
a system with that chipset to try so we cannot say for sure.

Regards,

Hardware support.

Hi,
do not has somebody experiences with QNX 4.25, Photon 1.14 and VGA card
ATI
Mobility Radeon 7500 ?
I wonder if the Photon is able to work with that card with “native” driver
or with some “flat” driver with reasonable speed in resolution 1027x768 at
least 15 bit colors.

Thanks.

So does this mean that the answer I received was is error - or is the issue
above only with the Mobility cards?
I do need to be able to use QNX 4.25 with Photon 1.14.

Clarification would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Ian.

graphics driver
