ddd is missing libXaw.so.7
I installed everything x86 from the 3rd party CD.

Hi David,

Check the following directory /opt/X11R6/lib the library should be there if
you installed everything from the 3rd party CD. If it is then check your
environment variable for your LD_LIBRARY_PATH and make sure it includes that
path.

Brenda

Hi,

I included /opt/X11R6/lib into my LD_LIBRARY_PATH, but it is still not
working. Please help.
I downloaded DDD from the 3rd party CD and I am now running 6.2
professional.

The message said libXaw.so.7 is missing, I check the file in /opt/X11R6/lib
is libXaw.so.7.0. The name is different. Is this the problem? Also, what is
the correct way to add the path into environment?

Thanks in advance.

I had the same problem a while back. I don’t remember which package you
also had to install and run but after you do this it works. It had
something to do with photon…??.. If you have 6.2 with support call them
and ask. The 3rd party CD isn’t really supported but if you’re nice they
might help you as they helped me. I’ll try to take a look in my Post-it
notes collection and get back to you hopefully.

By far th easiest thing to do is edit /usr/bin/ph and change all references
to /usr/X11R6 to /opt/X11R6 and Xphoton’s to XPhoton. Also remove the -once
from the Xphoton command line. Once you do this, restart photon.
