Booting problem

I created an bootable image and put it on the flash memory of my embedded
system (the flash does NOT connect to IDE) and boot from it, apparently the
system recognizes the image but it stops at
Hit ESC for .altboot…S

where we normally doesn’t see the “S” at the end. Any suggestion of making
this work?

Thanks,
Adam

My reading of what I take to be the relevant assembly code for the IPL
indicates that the S means that the image scan failed to find a valid
startup header. Does anyone know what might be the typical cause of that?
