devb-eide cannot setup cdrom

Hi List,
I created a bootable floppy with Nutrino6.2.0 to boot a cyrix Cx5530 based
single board computer. I can see the devb-eide detected CDROM at the
beginning, but soon lost it. At the end of the boot, cdrom driver is not
installed. The same bootable floopy works find on my Pentium desktop PC.

So I suspect the hardware itself doesn’t support 6.2.0 well in terms of
cdrom driver. To prove this, I tried to install the same QNX from cdrom into
harddisk. It finished the first run of installation. when I rebooted my
machine for second phase of installation, EIDE scanning hangs when detecting
cdrom.

Any suggestion or advice? many thanks.

Best Regards,

Luke

I can’t follow you. AFAIK there is no cdrom driver in Neutrino. There is CDROM File System Shared
Object to work with CDROM filesystem. You might want to look at devb-eide options and probably you
want to disable DMA or disable autodetect of EIDE devices.

Hi, Eduard,

After I disabled DMA, it works! Thanks.
