installation of QNX 6.2 on a QNX 4.5 machine

Hi all,

I need to know how to install QNX 6.2 on a machine already running QNX
4.5, if at all it is possible.

I want to retain the QNX 4.5 installation and also have a boot loader which
will let me choose which QNX version i should boot into.

You will want a free partition on the disk. You may have to trick
the installer by renumbering any QNX4 partions to something like t80
so the installer doesn’t try to “update” the existing install, or it
may prompt you. But, otherwise this should work fine.

But, essentially, you do need to have a seperate QNX6 partition.
(Which, of course, means you need free disk space for such a
partition, you can’t resize your QNX4 partition. )

Also, you can install QNX 6 into partition on second hdd, if there is no space on first hdd. QNX6
primary loader allows you to select drive and partition to boot from.
