Try running it from the terminal. Open a pterm and run “qde”. Post any
resulting output here.

Ok. I’ve done it. Look the results:

  1. running qde from pterm:

What is the output from “pidin in” on this machine?

Thanks Chris!

I found out that some RAM modules were not working properly. Instead of
256MB RAM the pidin utility reported only 64MB. I replaced the malicious
modules and resolved the problem. The IDE is starting now fine. However I
tried to run Help Contents from Help menu - I got nothing. In the terminal
window I got :

qde

Locating QNX java shared libraries … just a minute.
Starting QNX Development Environment
Unhandled exception caught in event loop.
Reason:
org.eclipse.help.AppServer

What is this about ? How can I activate plug-ins in the IDE?

Glad that it is working now. Unfortuntaly there is an issue with help
inside of the IDE. You will have to resort to using the helpviewer interface
under the self-hosted environment.
