Problem installing 6.2.1 on PC with SCSI disk / Intel Gigabi

I’m having problems installing QNX Neutrino NC 6.2.1 on my SCSI disk, using
an Adaptec AIC-7902 Ultra320 controller. The disk already has a primary
NTFS partition with XP, about 10GB of free space, and then an extended NTFS
logical disk. I can boot from my CD, but when I attempt to install on a new
disk partition I get

Could not get drive info for /dev/hd0

With a CD boot I can’t see any disk partitions under /fs. If I create a
FAT32 partition in my free space I don’t see it under /fs.

I don’t see the AIC-7902 in the supported hardware list
http://www.qnx.com/support/sd_hardware/platform/filesystem.html#0

A second problem – when I boot from CD, QNX doesn’t recogize my on-board
Intel 82546EB dual port Gigabit Ethernet controller. The phlip GUI comes up
without a Devices tab. The QNX web site
http://www.qnx.com/support/sd_hardware/platform/network.html#5
doesn’t list this as a supported controller, but Erick Muis indicated in
another post that the Intel PRO/1000 MT (8254x) NIC should work on QNX
6.2.1.

Any plans to support these devices? I can install an IDE disk and an older
NIC for now, but it would be nice to have support for the on-board devices
in the future.

Steve,

I have a dell optiplex gx260 and it came with an intel 82544 gigabit
ethernet controller on the motherboard. It behaved the same way you
described, but I found docs on this in the help, and enum files.

Turns out that 6.2.1 HAS a driver for this chipset family, but it is only
provided on 6.2.1 PE. I have NC,SE & PE here, I checked, and it is only on
the PE distribution.

The driver is devn-i82544

Mabe they made a mistake and this was supposed to be on all the other
versions too??? If so, they might release it in a patch or the next version
???

Good Luck,

John Eddy

The Ultra320 adapter is currently unsupported.
