I’m trying to install Qnx 6.2.1 on an old Hitachi laptop purchased in
1996. I burned a copy of the qnx non-com. install cd. The laptop which
currently run win95 will read the cd. However, when I boot from the cd
it locks up early in the boot sequence with an error message to the
effect of not being able to read the pci-bios. I tried several of the
boot options (I does get that far) and they don’t seem to make any
difference.
Has anyone succeeded with something similar to this?

What CPU is it? And old AMD one I suspect. I have seen some issues with
older AMD chipsets that don’t conform to “standard” PCI bios interfaces. Or
at least that is what I have seen in the past.

An original Intel Pentium. I don’t know what mobo chipset it uses
though. I kind of suspected that there might be something slightly
non-standard about it. Is there anything that can be done? An
alternate driver? Would an older version of qnx work better?

I’ve seen this before and I have not been able to come with a solution that
can be done with the current NC download. Do you have NC or PE?

I’ve seen this before and I have not been able to come with a solution that
can be done with the current NC download. Do you have NC or PE?
