Problem in installing eclipse on qnx nc!

I download eclipse 2.1.0 from the www.eclipse.org.But when I input eclipse
in the terminal to start the programm,there is a hint “Problems during
startup.Check the “.log” file in the “.metadata” directory of your
workspace”. I go to the directory “root/workspace” and there is not the
directory “metadata”.
Who can help me ? Thanks a lot!

It is actually going to be in /root/workspace/.metadata.
