SQL Database Server

Hi,

Does anyone know of anywhere we can get an ODBC level x.x API for QNX 4.25.
Are there any known database servers that run on ONX 4 (mysql, postgrad,
oracle???)
We currently use velocis 2.1 server and clients.

Any database/SQL solutions for QNX 4 clients would be highly appreciated.

For a database server on QNX4, check following

Postgres - has been ported but I don’t know how hard it is to have it
working properly.
e.g. http://www.postgresql.org/docs/faqs/text/FAQ_QNX4
GPL license
Empress - I think they still have support for QNX4, so there should be
help available to get it working

Then, the best of all, Sybase SQL Anywhere 5.5, but the product has been
discontinued. So maybe even if somehow you could buy it, you don’t want to
begin to use it anymore.

MySQL doesn’t have transaction handling and also there is no official port
to QNX4. I’m not sure if some old versions have been ported.

What’s the problem using Velocis?

Oracle and other big brand names, no hope.

If you find either of those useful, I’m interested to know too.

Dear Martin,

I represent the company owning the IP rights of Velocis. I’d appreciate you
getting back to me on any issues you have with our product. When I saw your
mail I immediately thought that he’s struggling. Let’s fix this

Velocis has now been renamed, and the latest version of the product is
called RDM Server v5.0, but unfortunately this version is not supported on
QNX4, but on QNX Neutrino.
