strange shares display throught Samba

Hi,
There is something strange about homes share through samba (any version).

Beside the username any user can see another username, different for
each of us but which is in fact the same share and not the one of the
other username !?!

If in the share options, I choose browseable = YES, I get a new share
‘homes’ beside myself and the other ‘ghost’ username which is, again, my
share.

Any idea??

  1. What client are you using? (smbclient? Windoze? MacOSX?)
  2. Posting to comp.protocols.smb may earn a better followup.

w2k client have habit of preserving credentials to have similar phenomemon
but I’m not a MS expert. If this is the case asking in
Windows newsgroup should be better.
