I have two Qnx4 machines networked (TCP/IP) via a hub and I can ping,
telnet, rlogin fine but the FTP login fails in one direction with the
message “remote system UNKNOWN” and if -d (debug flag is set) it indicates
the system type as UNKNOWN type L8. In the other direction (where it works)
the system type indicated is UNIX type L8. The one system is an embedded
PC104 486 single board computer and I had to install the O.S. on manually so
I suspect there is some steps that I did not do that the normal install
script does. All the doc I read on the FTP for QNX do not make any mention
of “remote system type” problems.
