This is a general question based on your experience with particular hard
drive manufacturers. We’ve run into some trouble with our Maxtor Hard
Drives. There seems to be an intermittent glitch in the boot sector that
causes the OS to be not found occassionaly. We were thinking about switching
to either Seagate or WD, but wanted to find out about other peoples
experiences first. We are using QNX 6.2.0 with an x86 processor.

Hi Biren
I would make sure that you really have a hard drive problem before
looking to switch. What evidence do you have that the drive is bad?
I ask because it is a very common problem that if the partition table
is written to a hard drive assuming one geometry and the driver trying
to access the drive is assuming a different geometry, you will see these
OS Not Found errors.
