Xlinx Vitx-II pro

I got a Xilinx Virtex-II Pro board to play with. I wonder if anyone has had
any good or bad experience with it. Some general help regarding buiding an
QNX image and booting it off the onboard flash drive would also be greately
appreciated.

thanks

Hello,
we tested the ML300 with the ML300-BSP beta from QNX. There were some
problems finding the correct source files from Xilinx to build the complete
BSP. QNX is working on ML300 with a image file and an ACE file we got from
QNX. From Xilinx support I got the information that the QNX BSP should work
with the Linux configuration of the ML300 software.
I shifted evaluation of ML300 BSP to do evaluation of the QNX6.3 beta
first.
Regards,
Werner

Thank you for the information. That at least gives me the hope this can
work.

I don’t see the ML300 package in Momentics PE. Do I have to request that
from QNX?

It makes sense to do the 6.3 evaluation at this point since it is coming out
soon. I’ll probably wait for that. I also found out that the other board I
have has an IDE interface to CF. I might be able to build an image and boot
it directly from the compact flash drive. (The other one is the evaluation
board from Xilinx. I only need to get the board with the compact flash to
work. )

Shouqin

Hello Shouqin,
there is a beta evaluation for ML300 BSP from QNX available on request. You
have to create an account in myqnx.com and if you have a registered
Momentics PE you may request to be joined to the ML300 beta program.
What other board did you have, is it a evaluation board from Xilinx?
On principle you should be able to start the devb-eide on the PPC405 if the
interface is compatible to IDE.

Werner

This is very valuable information. I’ll get to work right away.

The other board I have is the evaluation board from Xilinx. If I can get the
in-house built board to work,
I don’t have to work on the evaluation board. Hopefully, the IDE interface
will be easier to deal with because I can build the boot
image from another computer.
