QNX programmer with over 25 years experience seeking emploum

I have been a professional programmer for over 25 years. I have worked
exclusivly in the QNX environment for 17 years. I have used every feature
that the QNX OS has to offer.

I have developed major systems from scratch. I have interfaced to other
vendors using all types of protocols. I have developed fault tolerent
systems with automatic data mirroring. And I can diagnose just about every
type of problem that the world can throw at a piece of software.

I have also done QNX consulting under the name Q-TPS Consulting.

For a detailed resume, please e-mail me at qtps@earthlink.com.
Bill Caroselli

With so much experience, one should have learned how to post so that
messages would not appear to be coming from some bogus entity named ‘QNX’…

Very mature post, sigh. You missed a nice opportunity to make the world a
better place by not kindly pointing to this oversight, maybe next time.

Of course maybe you were trying to be sarcastic and humourous by yourself
posting as Windows, if that was you intention I would like to inform you
that I didn’t get it…

It’s is only an ‘oversight’ the first time. When it is used for multiple
postings into multiple groups, it becomes something else.

Of course maybe you were trying to be sarcastic and humourous by yourself
posting as Windows, if that was you intention I would like to inform you
that I didn’t get it…

Are you saying someone else has kindly pointed it out for you?

Good Point.

I just installed and configured this Microsoft software. At instalation
time the prompt lead me to believe I was naming the Newgroup for my own
display purposes. Obviously I was wrong. This post that you saw was one of
my first two. I’m not claiming to know Microsoft that well, just QNX.

I was in the process of upgrading to DSL service. You have no idea how much
Earthlink screwed up my account while attempting this upgrade. But all
should be working now. If not,let me know.

You’re running Microsoft Outlook, which is generally considered
a big mistake. Install Mozilla/Firefox/Thunderbird on the
Windows machine, just like you would on QNX.

John Nagle

I love firefox, but thunderbird doesn’t do half what Outlook can.

I like Outlook, and it is very powerful. It doesn’t read news though, so
this is irrelevant.

What I think you mean is Outlook Express, which is a more direct competitor
of Thunderbird. I still prefer Outlook Express though - despite my otherwise
socialist free software leanings.

Realy? comp.os.qnx is a NEWS group.

Thunderbird is mainly a browser. Qutlook Express is amail client, AFAIK.
So they are not comparable …

I still prefer Outlook Express though - despite my otherwise

Did you give a try to “the Bat!” ?

Tony.

My choise is Opera as the browser+news+irc and the Bat! as the e-mail
client.
(BWT, Opera can handle e-mail on it’s own too!)

Sorry I think you got a little confused Thunderbird is a mail-news

client, not a browser. Firefox is the browser.

Email and News vs. Email, News, Calendaring… Thunderbird does about
2/3 of what I’ve used Outlook for.

I like Outlook, and it is very powerful. It doesn’t read news though, so
this is irrelevant.

Unless they’ve removed that feature since Outlook 2000, I’m pretty sure
it can. It might require some sort of magical setup though, and I think
Outlook calls newsgroups “shared folders” or something.

For a long, long time, Outlook Express was a much better email/news
client than Outlook; despite sharing a name, they don’t share the code
base, and Outlook was left stagnant for ages.

Problem with non microsoft stuff is they are non supported when it comes to
dealing with PDA/Cellphone sync of adress book, email etc. I’d would love
to get rid of Outlook haven’t found a way
