Installer won't install packages...

Hi

I’ve been trying to install the latest
QNX 6 NC cdrom onto an Arcom SBC-GX1
board, with the NS Geode CPU.
( 300 MHz CPU, 32 M ram, 3 Gig HD )

Installation runs fine, right up to
where it reboots, photon starts and
the package installer pops up.

After this, none of the buttons in the
installer are ever enabled, no matter
what I do ( select packages, deselect
them, nothing happens )

How can I complete the install?

Thanks,

We had a problem with similar symptoms a while ago. Make sure that date is
set correctly on your board.

Set the date of OS. Thi operation unblock th button of installer…

Well after a bit of fiddling, it works now.

First, I did have to set the date to the
correct time ( gotcha! ).
Thanks guys.

Also, since the board only has 32 meg RAM,
it seemed to run out during the install.
So I installed to the HD in a different PC,
then transferred the HD to the MediaGX board.
Reconfigured Photon’s graphics, and it all
works fine - impressive!

It’s just a shame it takes over 2 minutes
to do its hardware detection and finish booting!

Anyway, at least I can see what the addresses
and settings are for the PCI stuff, so I can
mess about with the startup files now to
speed up booting. Pity QNX removed the
embedding tools from the NC version though.

Thanks,
